Nurse Manager RN Case Management Utilization Review

This exceptional acute care hospital in the Portland Metro Area is actively interviewing for an RN Nurse Manager to help lead operations of the Case Management and Utilization Review department. Join a medical center that’s dedicated to providing the absolute best patient care, and play a critical role in coordinating that care.

The Case Management Nurse Manager will take on a role that balances clinical management with operational proficiency. You’ll play a central role in guiding the operations of a fast-paced case management department, and in ensuring that each step of the continuum of care offers the highest quality of patient care. A strong candidate for this role will be an experienced communicator, will have a high competency in cross discipline and multidisciplinary collaboration, and a passion for achieving outstanding patient care for an extremely fragile population.

You’ll have a strong foundation in building and maintaining budgetary guidelines and awareness within the Case Management department, and you’ll ensure that the RN Case Managers that follow you do too. The central role you’ll play in the operations of the hospital also require the RN Nurse Manager Case UM to have an in-depth understanding of healthcare finance, federal programs, trends, laws, and regulations.

The Utilization Review Case Management Manager will also play an important role in the clinical operations of the hospital. Since your department is one of the few that has touch points in every other department, a dedication to quality and process improvement will be very important. Improving collaboration across units, ensuring process–based operational efficiencies, and serving as a resource to unit leaders will allow you to affect real, tangible change in the care of patients.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Care Management, your ability to communicate effectively across departmental and organizational borders will be tested constantly. Leading an experienced and dedicated team of RN Case Managers, and directly supported by a Registered Nurse Case Management & Utilization Management Supervisor, you’ll have a direct effect on operations. Beyond regular internal reporting on quality, utilization, and care transition metrics to the hospital’s Executive Team, the RN Care Management Nurse Manager will also be asked to provide insights and information to non-organization stakeholders. You’ll get to work with NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), community leaders, and healthcare advocates throughout the Portland Area to improve care for the whole community.

The Greater Portland Area is quickly becoming one of America’s prime destinations, and it’s easy to see why. The RN Case Management Nurse Manager will discover an affordable cost-of-living, close proximity to some of the country’s best schools, and a growing economy, making this region a great place to think about family. World-class cuisine, a legendary music scene, a nationally recognized craft beer and cocktail industry, and a long history of artistic culture will keep the city folks happy to the core. A short trip in any direction puts you square in the middle of the most beautiful nature the West Coast has to offer. From the snowy slopes of Mt. Hood, the rocky Oregon Coast, the outdoorsy type will find plenty to keep them happy.

The Nurse Manager of Case Management will play a vital role in the operations of this medical center and in the support of the community in the Portland Metro Area. You will provide the best care possible, and you will be constantly amazed by the sheer indomitable nature of the human spirit. In support of this large task, you will receive a generous benefits package and competitive compensation.
