Reporting directly to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Manager Pediatric Critical Care PICU will be well-supported by Assistant PICU Nurse Managers, a PICU Clinical Nurse Specialist, and a dedicated PICU nursing staff.
This nationally-ranked PICU is a top referral center for the region and carest for the sickest pediatric patients. Types of cases commonly seen in this high-acuity Pediatric ICU include organ system failure, organ transplant, complex chronic illness, and children recovering from heart, neuro, and orthopedic surgery.
The Nurse Manager Pediatric Critical Care PICU will collaborate with the PICU Clinical Nurse Specialist, Medical Director, Physicians, and clinical staff to manage, assess, and enhance patient care. The Nurse Manager Pediatric Critical Care PICU will provide guidance on nursing practice, hiring and retention, budgeting and quality improvement.
The ideal Nurse Manager Pediatric Critical Care PICU candidate has clinical experience in a fast-paced PICU setting. Previous Cardiac experience is a plus, but not required. The Nurse Manager Pediatric Critical Care PICU will bring their clinical expertise to several long-term projects including throughput and overall length of stay, patient safety, staff engagement, and patient/staff satisfaction.
