TheNurse Manager of Surgical Services will be responsible for assisting the unit Nurse Director in leading a surgical department that operates over 12 OR Suites, multiple ambulatory surgery suites, and 5endoscopy suites. The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will work very closely with the perioperative nurse leadership and surgeon team that strives to utilize minimally invasive surgeries whenever possible to ensure quicker recovery times and less pain for the patient. This surgical department is accustomed to applying the latest surgical technologies and regularly uses the da Vinci Surgical System for gynecologic, urologic, prostate and kidney, thoracic, and bariatric weight loss surgeries. This hospital has a surgical service line that includes procedures for numerous patient cases including surgeries for cancer, endoscopy, orthopedics, ophthalmic, minimally invasive, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive, trauma, vascular, urology, weight loss, and women’s services.
TheNurse Manager of Surgical Services will work in tandem with the Department of Surgery and Department of Anesthesia leadership team to provide a collaboratively successful work environment. The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will oversee the clinical nursing practice, inventory and equipment needs, capital and operating budgets, strategic planning, utilization review, sterile processing, and all other administrative functions of the department. The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will oversee a team of roughly 35+ full time employees and will lead a department that is responsible for performing up to 15,000 surgeries annually.
