The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical and Endoscopy will be a leader with in the Med-Surg and Endoscopy unit for both inpatient and outpatient services, helping provide the community with highest quality care.
The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical and Endoscopy will report to directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, as well as work collaboratively with all department leaders and physicians, to address all nursing issues and concerns to help provide the highest level of care. The manager will lead a team of medical surgical charge nurses, supervisory nurses, staff nurses, nurse practitioners, RNFAs, CNAs, and nurse educators, to helping ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed.
The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical and Endoscopy will be responsible for multiple operational units. One unit will consist of adult medical patients with some overflow adult/adolescent surgical overflow. The RN Med-Surg / GI Manager will evaluate activities of the medical floor workflow to help ensure patient care, quality and efficiency of service. The manager of Endoscopy and Medical Surgical will also make sure the GI unit is well inspected for: cleanliness sterility and operational functionality of equipment.
Consulting with department leaders, physicians, and staff, the Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical and Endoscopy will analyze hospital policies and nursing issues/concerns to ensure the highest level of quality patient care. The Nurse Manager will lead by example to help implement new improvements to both units and the department overall, by maintaining and performing in quality improvement activities. They will also strive to improve the department while complying with annual unit budgets.
