The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will become a vital member of this nationally-recognized health system that is made up of internationally renowned physicians, advanced clinical research, and utilization of the latest medical technologies. This hospital is accustomed to offering a wide range of diagnostic and treatment medical and surgical services to include neurosciences, transplant services, oncology and gastroenterology, perioperative services, emergency and trauma services, among many others.
The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will be assist the unit Nurse Director in leading an award-winning critical department that proudly boasts a Gold-Level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care. The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will be responsible for the direct oversight of roughly 75 FTE’s. This specialized department is accustomed to caring for some of the most critically ill patients within the hospital including those needing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and post cardiac arrest hypothermia protocol. The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will work amongst a number of clinically advanced critical care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pulmonologists, and case managers. This critical care department is able to provide each and every patient with a multidisciplinary intensive care team working around the clock to provide exceptional patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will assume 24/7 oversight of the clinical and administrative functions of the critical care department. The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will be expected to effectively communicate with executive hospital staff, leadership teams, clinical staff, and many other professionals throughout the hospital. The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will also be responsible for evaluating the patient care of the critical care nursing staff and will take adequate measures to align the department with the overall goals of the healthcare organization. The ideal candidate for this position will be a tenured critical care or intensive care nursing leader who comes with at least 3 years of prior managerial experience.
