Nurse Manager Medical Surgical Services

An established acute care hospital located in north-eastern Iowa is currently searching for an experienced Nurse Manager Medical Surgical Services to join their accredited healthcare team.

The Nurse Manager Medical Surgical Services will join a fully accredited 250-bed acute care hospital that provides a variety of primary, acute, and tertiary care services. This acute care hospital is proud to be a member of a national healthcare system that spans more than 20 states and encompasses roughly 100 acute care hospitals. Known as a regional medical center for the tri-state area, this facility has earned more national recognition for quality and patient outcomes compared to any other hospital in the area. This system has received multiple honor awards in regards to cardiac care, orthopedic services, vascular surgery, stroke care, and cancer care.

Under limited supervision, the Nurse Manager will lead a mixed Medical-Surgical unit and provide leadership to the nurses and ancillary staff throughout the department. The Nurse Manager will assess, plan, organize, and evaluate the provision of patient care throughout the unit and will report to the Nursing Director of Inpatient Services. The Nurse Manager will oversee the personnel management, resource management, quality assurance, and fiscal responsibility. The Nurse Manager will utilize evidence-based practices and promote a culture that is conducive to staff and patient satisfaction.

The Nurse Manager Medical Surgical Services will act as a transformative leader within the organizations clinical teams and serve as a leader on various committees. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing, along with current state nursing licensure. At least 5 years of prior nursing experience in a medical surgical setting, and a minimum of 3-5 years prior leadership is required.
