An excellent career opportunity is now available in a tertiary Portland Metropolitan Area Medical Center actively searching for a Nurse Manager Emergency Services.
The Nurse Manager Emergency will oversee the daily operations of an extremely busy 60 bed unit, which last year saw over 80,000 patients. Reporting to the Nurse Director Emergency & Trauma Services, the Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Manager is supported by 3 assistant nurse managers as well and charge nurses, with over 150 FTE’s in the department.
The Manager of Emergency Services will maintain the designated Cardiovascular Receiving Center and Stroke Neurology Receiving Center. The ER Nurse Manager will collaborate with 20 physicians board certified in Emergency Medicine, along with nurse Practitioners, nurses, educators, clinical coordinators and case manager.
The Emergency Nurse Manager will work closely with staff to coordinate and oversee continuing education and in-service trainings and will review policies and procedures to ensure best practices in patient safety and performance improvement.
The Emergency Services Nurse Manager ER will collaborate with the Infection control committee as well as the Quality Coordinator to ensure best practices and patient satisfaction. The Emergency Services Nurse Manager ER will be responsible supervision of the department, treating any immediate medical or surgical emergencies and for providing other chronic medical problems, minor injuries or illness.
