This emergency department utilizes the most advanced technology and modern nurses’ station. Additionally, the emergency department also offers an area dedicated to treating patients with minor conditions, which allows staff to more quickly, yet efficiently treat patients--improving overall department patient flow.
Reporting to the Director of Emergency Medicine, the Nurse Manager Emergency Services will oversee the emergency department, which has private 33 treatment rooms. With clinical and administrative responsibilities, the Assistant Nurse Director will ensure the department adheres to state, federal, and hospital policy procedures, regulatory compliance, and best practices, monitor department budgets, scheduling, and implement quality performance improvement initiatives. As the department resource, the Assistant Nurse Director will assist with new-hire orientation, offer continuing education programs for new-hire and current department staff, and be up to date on industry best practices and procedures.
The Nurse Manager Emergency Services should have prior clinical leadership experience with a clinical background working in an emergency department. The Nurse Manager Emergency Services will hold (or be willing to obtain prior to starting) their North Carolina Registered Nurse license, or their compact RN license. Additionally, the Nurse Manager Emergency Services will be familiar with patient satisfaction scores, budgets, and understands the importance of quality metrics. The ideal Nurse Manager Emergency Services will be a motivated, critical thinker, excited to develop, introduce, and implement new initiatives and programs, while leading a team of highly specialized registered nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff.
