Reporting to the Administrative Director of Behavioral Health, the Nurse Manager Behavioral Health will be well supported by three Psychiatric Charge Nurses and supervise 12 dedicated Mental Health Staff Nurses with an additional 5 RNs on call. The Nurse Manager Mental Health will also serve in an educational leadership role over Recreational Therapists, Case Managers, Mental Health Specialists, and Nurse Assistants within the Inpatient Mental Health Unit.
The Mental Health Nurse Manager will oversee an outstanding 15-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit that provides acute voluntary and involuntary treatment of Psychiatric Disorders for a range of adult patients. The Inpatient Mental Health Nurse Manager oversees a large population of adult patients in a locked unit setting. The Nursing Manager Psychiatric Services will have the opportunity to make a deep, lasting impact on the lives of patients suffering from depression and other mental illnesses.
The ideal Nursing Manager Psychiatric Services candidate is an experienced RN with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The Nurse Manager Behavioral Health will bring their clinical expertise to several long-term projects including throughput and overall length of stay, patient safety, staff engagement, and patient/staff satisfaction.
