The Nurse Director Patient Safety and Risk will be coordinating all aspects of Risk Management and Patient safety within this large, fast moving facility, and will directly contribute to keeping the hospital safe for patients and employees.
Reporting to the Executive Director Quality, Risk, and Accreditation, this Nurse Director will be the leader of all hospital-wide safety programs. This Director will guide the Environment of Care group while ensuring safety department wide within the facility. Communicates with Medical Staff, and Leadership to ensure optimal care and achieve the best outcome through peer review. Multiple FTE’s report up to the Director including Manager of Infection Control, and Manager of Risk Management.
Working across the continuum of care, the Nurse Director will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to nearly every hospital department. They will serve Clinical Leaders as a resource in establishing and ensuring safe working habits across the hospital. These metrics include reducing slip-and-fall occurrences, and improving in-unit infection rates. This person will also serve in an administrative role, working with federal (CMS & OSHA), state (DPH), and local regulatory agencies on compliance concerns. On top of this, the Director will work closely with the Director of Infection Prevention to identify protocols that will keep the hospital, and patients infection free.
The Nurse Director Patient Safety and Risk is responsible for observing and developing organization-wide safety programs. With evidence-based practices being implemented, the Nurse Director will identify patient care, and reductions in harm. The Nurse Director is in charge of Program Development for both Employee and Patient Safety , as well as operations for patient experience when visiting this facility. The Director will be working hand-in-hand with reporting of safety issues as well as risk management patterns making operational goals for the hospital top priority.
