An award-winning teaching hospital located in upstate New York is currently searching for an experienced Nurse Director of Occupational Health Services to join their accredited healthcare team.

The Nurse Director of Occupational Health Services will work within a hospital that is an epicenter of care for patients who need advanced treatment such as open-heart surgery, specialized cancer treatments, trauma care, vascular care, neurosurgery, as well as orthopedic and spinal care. The Nurse Director of Occupational Health Services is accountable for leading the healthcare system’s employee health activities. The Nurse Director will develop and implement employee health programs system-wide, manage the worker’s compensation activities, provide physical exams and treatment for workers, provide pre-employment physical, and ensure Joint Commission compliance in regards to vaccinations, infection control, and employee health records. The Nurse Director will also oversee FMLA and General leave for all employees. The Nurse Director will also work hands on with hospital management to ensure regulatory compliance, injury prevention and reduction, and hazard elimination.
The Nurse Director of Occupational Health Services must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program of nursing along with current New York state nursing licensure. The Nurse Director must have at least 5 years of prior nursing leadership experience along with occupational health nursing experience. Occupational Health Nurse Specialist Certification (COHN) is highly preferred.
