The Medical Surgical Services Nurse Director will join a Joint Commission Accredited Hospital with 140+ patient beds, that has been serving its community for over 50 years. This facility offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services including 24/7 Emergency Services, Cardiovascular Services, Women & Infant Services, and an impressive array of Surgical Services. This large health system is excited to welcome a dedicated Med / Surg Nursing Leader to their team!
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, The Nurse Director of Medical Surgical Services will have support of a fabulous team of Nurse Managers, Medical Surgical RN’s, and Nurse Educators. This person will have clinical oversight of the unit, with the support of the leadership team.
The Nurse Director of Medical Surgical Services will oversee a multispecialty department that provides care to a mix of patients including those requiring critical care, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology and medical oncology. This Nurse Leader will collaborate with board certified physicians who work closely across all specialties.
The Medical Surgical Services Nurse Director will provide leadership for the process of planning, directing, integrating and coordinating activities to achieve departmental objectives. This position will be responsible for personnel management, budget planning and monitoring, scheduling, systems improvement, compliance with regulatory requirements, strategic planning and participates in direct patient care as necessary. This person will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development, and performance improvement. An ideal candidate will be someone who is a subject matter expert for evidence based practices in regards to inpatient and acute care nursing.
