The Nurse Director of Labor and Delivery Perinatal Unit will have administrative responsibility for a busy and fast paced Maternal Child Health department. The department delivers 3,000 babies in the Family Life Center with 225 babies cared for in state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The Nurse Director of Labor and Delivery Perinatal Unit will be responsible for the strategic planning, business development, operational turnaround and improvement of the department. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Director of Labor and Delivery Perinatal Unit will collaborate closely with the Nurse Director of Quality Management for Performance and Productivity Improvement Measures.

The Nurse Director of Labor and Delivery Perinatal Unit will be supported by Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery, Nurse Manager of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Nurse Manager of Postpartum and Pediatrics, Charge Nurses and 70 skillful and tenured FTEs.

The Nurse Director of Labor and Delivery Perinatal Unit will have management responsibilities include assessment, planning and evaluating staff, nursing care and unit management while operating within budgeted parameters for staffing, and supplies. Monitor established standards for the environment for patient care and safety. Intervene during crisis situations as necessary. Counsel and teach all nursing staff as necessary. Interpret the Medical Center and Departmental policies and procedures.
