The Nurse Director of Acute Care Services will be responsible for assisting the Chief Nursing Officer CNO in providing overall leadership and direction for the units or areas of responsibility and for creating an environment that fosters a multidisciplinary team and collaborative approach to care that achieves operational and clinical “Best Practice."
The Nurse Director of Acute Care Services will participate alongside the Chief Nursing Executive CNE in overseeing all aspects of the care delivery system and works organizationally to improve service, and in staff development including development and maintenance of competencies, participation in the orientation process and involvement in the educational process. The Nurse Director of Acute Care Departments will assist in establishing capital and operational budgets.
The Nurse Director of Acute Care Services will collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Managers performing probationary and annual evaluations, as well as with physician leaders to develop methods for improving the quality of care overall. The ideal candidate for Nurse Director of Acute Care Services will have at least 5 years of recent experience in Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit ICU and Telemetry with clinical knowledge and leadership qualities with experience as a Director or tenured Manager.
