Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will demonstrate expertise in coordinating, directing, and managing all aspects of the behavioral health program. The Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will be supported by a Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Educator, and Mental Health Therapists. The staff members of the unit will work together to provide the best quality of patient care.
The Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will oversee a 20 bed inpatient psychiatric unit for adults struggling with acute mental health problems, substance abuse, and psychiatric disorders. The Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will also work with the Emergency Department to assist with the psych pod located in the Emergency Room.
The Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will participate in the planning and providing of staff development and in-service training programs for unit staff. The Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will be responsible for supervising over unit staff education, evaluating staff performance, hiring staff, and financially managing the mental health unit. The Nurse Director of Behavioral Health will also perform clinical operations as needed within the unit consisting of consulting with patients and their families and making rounds regularly to ensure patient needs are being met.
