An excellent career opportunity is now available in a 300 bed Southern California Medical Center is actively seeking a Nurse Director Emergency Department.
The Nurse Director Emergency Department will oversee the daily operations of an extremely busy 35 bed unit, which last year saw over 60,000 patients. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Director is supported by 2 nurse managers as well as tenured clinical supervisors and charge nurses.
The Nurse Director of Emergency Services will maintain the 24-hour responsibility of a busy ER. The Emergency Nurse Director will collaborate with 15 physicians board certified in Emergency Medicine, along with nurse Practitioners, nurses, educators, clinical coordinators and case manager. The medical center also provides: Cardiac Cath and Open Heart Cardiology Services, and a Primary Stroke Receiving Center.
The Emergency Director will work closely with staff to coordinate and oversee continuing education and in-service trainings and will review policies and procedures to ensure best practices in patient safety and performance improvement.
The Emergency Services Nurse Director ER will collaborate with the Infection control committee as well as the Quality Coordinator to ensure best practices and patient satisfaction. The Emergency Services Nurse Director ER will be responsible supervision of the department, treating any immediate medical or surgical emergencies and for providing other chronic medical problems, minor injuries or illness.
