Nurse Director Critical and Step Down ICU

An award winning Southern California non-profit Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Director Critical Care, Telemetry and Step Down to join their prestigious organization.

The Nurse Director Critical Care, Telemetry and Step Down will oversee a very large merged unit, a 70 bed combined ICU and Step Down, and a 20 bed covid surge unit.  The Nurse Director Acute Care Services will be supported by 4 Nurse Managers, 2 Nurse Educators/Clinical Nurse Specialists, and numerous charge nurses, and will be responsible to a staff of over 150 employees.

The Nurse Director Acute Care Services will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and will be responsible for the twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of Critical Care & Telemetry departments in order to provide quality individualized patient care, to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric on the age continuum. 

The Nurse Director of Critical Care unit will see patients in vast ranges of acuity scales, from those who have had minor to sever incidents, to those recovering from cardiovascular surgery, stroke and extreme traumatic events.

The Nurse Director ICU Step Down will also assume fiscal responsibility for the unit budgets, serve as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promote the maximum growth and development of each employee, support nursing research and assure patient advocacy.
