Reporting to the Nursing Director of Surgical Services, the Neuro Nurse RN works with Surgeons, Nurse Managers and nursing staff to ensure quality patient care standards are met within the Neurology Department. The Neurological Nurse must have a minimum of a BSN Degree and 2+ year’s experience in Neuro Surgery.
Responsibilities for the Neurology Surgical Services Nurse include providing direct quality patient care to patients of all ages, including pediatric through geriatric populations. The Neuro RN will also be responsible for patient assessments, and monitoring the patient’s psychological and physical aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Duties for the Neuro RN also include communicating with the Surgeons and Anesthesiologists about patient conditions and receives direction for patient management.
