The Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor will work in a CAP accredited laboratory that is part of a community hospital in North Carolina. The Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor will join the close knit laboratory team, working alongside a team of highly specialized laboratory medical technologists. As the section leader for microbiology, the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor will work the bench, maintain equipment, analyze data, update policy procedures, educate new hires, act as a resource to current laboratory medical technologists, and ensure state, and federal regulatory compliance is consistently maintained. The Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor reports to the Director of Laboratory Services and will primarily work a Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm schedule with potential weekend rotations as needed. Ideally, the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor holds their ASCP certification, has prior microbiology medical technologist experience ideally working as a lead technologist, offers general knowledge and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, and is proficient in keyboarding and laboratory information systems;.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science
- ASCP or equivalent certification
- Prior experience working as a Microbiology MT/MLT
