Reporting to the Service Line Director, the Medical Surgical Nursing Manager will be accountable for overseeing the Medical Surgical department. Responsibilities of the Medical Surgical Nurse Manager include overseeing operational workflow, staff hiring and scheduling, managing the budget, updating policy procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, assisting with new-hire education, cross-collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ultimately being a mentor for the med-surg team of registered nurses, educators, technicians, and non-clinical staff.
The Medical Surgical Nursing Manager will have their active New Mexico or compact RN license (or get within 90 days of hire), have prior clinical leadership experience working as a supervisor, assistant nurse manager, manager, or director, and a clinical background working in an emergency department or intensive care unit.
