The Manager of Laboratory Services will work on-site at the newly opened laboratory. The Manager of Laboratory Services will oversee day-to-day operations of the lab and a team of laboratory technologists, clinical laboratory scientists, and medical technologists. Because this testing site was recently launched, the Manager of Laboratory Services will help grow the laboratory services team through recruitment, staff education, updating policy procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and standardizing processes. With familiarity on best practices, procedures, and techniques, the Manager of Laboratory Services is familiar with managing and maintaining large volume requests while providing quality results.
The Ideal Manager of Laboratory Services will be a hands-on leader, excited to mentor, educate, support, and work alongside their team as needed. The Manager of Laboratory services will be accountable for a team of medical technologists, clinical laboratory scientists, and laboratory technologists that are collecting, receiving, and processing specimens, processing patient samples, validating testing, and updating the data management system.
The Manager of Laboratory Services will need prior wet lab experience in molecular techniques (DNA/RNA, RTqPCR, qPCR processes), knowledgeable with handling patient specimens from accession to storage, data analysis, and interpretation and will be detail oriented. The Manager of Laboratory Services should have previous leadership experience managing a team, budgets, department operations, and staff education.
- Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS) and/or Generalist or certified as a Laboratory Technologist (ASCP)
- Master’s degree and experience in high-complexity testing OR Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or chemical, physical with experience or biological science and one year of training and experience in high-complexity clinical
- Previous Laboratory Management experience
- Experience undergoing FDA and CLIA inspections and approval audits
- Recent experience working as a clinical laboratory scientist, medical technologist, or laboratory technologist.
