Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Manager will support Product Development and Portfolio oversight for the Health Plan’s Marketing and Business Development unit. This person will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Manager of Sales to set business development direction, identify market opportunities, and execute strategies within the community.
At the heart of the Manager’s role are the products that the Health Plan provides. Serving the community as part of an integrated model of health care delivery, this Health Plan strives for affordability, diverse coverage options, and efficiency with all of its customers. This community-based organization offers products to large, small, and medium enterprise employer groups, as well as individuals and families regardless of whether or not they’re on the health insurance exchange. Other, innovative products that the Health Plan offers are a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan and a Medicare Advantage HMO.
The Health Plan Product Manager will play a key role in designing, evaluating, and implementing new healthcare products. Working with internal and external stakeholders, exchange professionals, and directly with customers, the Manager will develop new products to meet the community’s needs. From the ideation stage through the go-to-market strategy, the Manager will lead the processes and products that maintain and improve the community’s health.
This person will also need to have strong administrative management skills, as the Product Marketing Manager will be leading a whole department. This means that budgetary and staffing knowledge, operational coordination, and resource management will all play big roles in measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the Product Portfolio and Business Development unit. The San Francisco health care market is a crowded and competitive place, but the Health Plan Products Manager will know how to find the customer’s pain and alleviate it.
