Reporting to the Nurse Manager of Education and Performance Improvement the Intensive Care Unit Nursing Education Specialist will be responsible for the professional development and quality assessment of the nurses within the Critical Care department. The ICU Nurse Education Specialist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals that are trained to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, critical care, and stabilization of patients needing intensive care.

The Nurse Education Specialist of the Intensive Care Unit will join a fast paced critical care service line with 60+ beds that include full-service surgical intensive care units and medical intensive care units.  Patient populations vary greatly, and include Cardiac, Orthopedics, Neuro and Wound Care

The Nurse Education Specialist will facilitate staff orientation, professional development and competency assessments for the Critical Care Department. This position serves as an educational resource for the department and will be responsible for creating and implementing training and orientation programs specific to Critical Care. This Nurse Educator will work closely with CCRN Intensive Care Nurses, ICU Patient Technicians and Intensive Care leaders to continuously advance and refine competencies in patient care.
