The Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Manager will work for a large teaching hospital located in southern Ohio. This 500+ bed acute care hospital is known for their full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services; including their behavioral and mental health programs, cancer center, and intricate surgical services team. This hospital utilizes a team oriented, patient-centered approach that creates a welcoming environment for their patients and employees. The Inpatient Nurse Manager will work at a state-of-the-art facility alongside work-class physicians, specialists, nurses, and ancillary staff.
Reporting to the Director of Psychiatric Services, the Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Manager will oversee a geriatric centered unit with primarily psychiatric diagnosis. Patients admitted to this unit are typically referred from other practitioners, the probate court, psychiatric emergency services, and other medical units within the hospital and from outside the hospital.
Responsibilities of the Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Manager include 24/7 accountability of the unit, overseeing operational workflow, department staffing, ensuring hospital, state, and federal regulatory compliance, updating policy procedures, preparing for upcoming accreditation and surveys and cross collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Manager must be a seasoned nurse holding their BSN, along with previous inpatient behavioral or mental health clinical experience. Additionally, the Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Manager has previous management experience, and is familiar with preparing for Joint Commission.
