Inpatient Point of Entry Care Manager RN will coordinate Bed Management Program to accept, coordinate, and assign bed placement requests using the Patient Placement Matrix. Coordinate activities to ensure discharge happens in a timely manner. The Point of Entry Care Hospital Manager RN will maintain real time knowledge of pending discharges/transfers, current admit requests, and bed availability by communicating with the Nursing Leadership and/or Nursing Unit staff. The Point of Entry Care HospitalManage RN will also evaluate all emergency department and direct admit requests for appropriate admission and level of care using InterQual criteria, discuss concerns with physicians and suggest alternatives to admission as needed.
The ideal Inpatient Point of Entry Care Manager RN candidate must have a Washington State RN license, with an advanced knowledge Case Management and Utilization Review processes, InterQual and acute-care patient status regulations and guidelines.
