A community medical center in New Mexico is currently seeking a Director to oversee technical and administrative Operations for its Inpatient Laboratory. Join this tightknit community, a dedicated Lab and Medical team, and lead an experienced team of scientists and technologists.
This community hospital in Northern New Mexico has a history of superior patient outcomes and full service offerings. Providers, nurses, staff, and administrators here have developed an outstanding reputation for setting a high bar for both quality and healthcare value. As the Laboratory Director, you’ll play a vital role in the operations of this acute care hospital and its continued support to the community.
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Laboratory Operations Director will be joining, and leading, an extraordinary team. Supporting this person is a 10+ FTE unit that does about 150 draws a day across inpatient and outpatient services lines. Partly due to its location, and partly to its community commitment, this medical center Laboratory contains all the equipment core to a functional Lab: Siemens chemistry, System hematology, Echo blood bank analyzer, Stago Coag, Iricell UA, Siemens PFA, Siemens Rapidpoint ABG.
The incoming Lab Operations Director will play an integral role in the operations of this department. This person will serve as a consultant and resource for many of the hospital’s leaders, as well as a mentor and leader to the excellent staff of Lab Technologists. The Director will also take oversight of administrative aspects of this department, spearheading budget development, staffing, and financial oversight.
Rooted in hundreds of years of rich history, culture, and heritage, the American Southwest is one of the most iconic regions of the US. At the heart of this region is New Mexico. Whether the Inpatient Laboratory Director prefers the city life or the great outdoors, you’ll find something to love every day in New Mexico. From the famous local cuisine (green chilies everywhere - yum!), to an amazing network of living history and frontier museums, to a fantastic live music scene, you’ll never run out of things to do. If you’d prefer a little more open sky, you’ll find that here too. Over 300 days a year of sunshine, golf course, and majestic hikes – all scented with the sage and pinon that dots the desert landscape – will keep you as busy as you’d like.
The Inpatient Lab Operations Director will have a large support network within the hospital and ambulatory clinic, from executive leadership to front-line nursing staff. You’ll have a large responsibility of the quality and efficiency of the facility’s operations and mission, but that’s exactly how you like it. You’ll also be supported by a generous benefits package and a competitive compensation.
