The Infection Manager will also play in integral part in keeping the clinics and outpatient practices associated with the hospital free and clear of infection risk.

Reporting to the Administrative Director of Quality and Risk Management, you will manage an interdisciplinary team of RNs, MLTs, and Infection Prevention Coordinators to lead infection control processes throughout the hospital. This means that the Hospital Infection Manager will wear many hats in this inpatient acute care environment. 

Working closely with this medical center’s inpatient laboratory, with RN Nursing Unit Leaders, the Quality Improvement Team, Physicians, and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee, the IP Manager will play a crucial role in keeping the patients and employees safe. This person will spearhead the development and implementation of hospital-wide measures to prevent the prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.

A large part of developing and defining these measures is an avid attention to detail. The Inpatient Infection Prevention Manager will collect and analyze hospital-level data and contribute to national infection-control programs such as the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and the Emerging Infections Program (EIP HAIC) to ensure appropriate compliance reporting.
