The ICU Nurse Manager RN will work at a 650+ medical center with a Level II Trauma Program. The facility was awarded 4 stars by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for their top Patient Experience ratings. They are known throughout the community for their excellence in several clinical service areas including but not limited to: Surgery, Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiovascular Services, and Obstetrics. The hospital has plans to open a new tower in the beginning of 2020.
The ICU Nurse Manager RN will oversee the day-to-day operations of a 32 bed ICU that has plans to expand to 48 beds. The unit sees a variety of cases including Neuro, Medical Surgical, and Post Open Heart. Nurses on this unit operate at a 2:1 nurse to patient ratio. The unit has a leadership structure that consists of multiple Nurse Managers, Assistant Nurse Managers, and Unit Educators.
The ICU Nurse Manager RN will report to the ICU Director of Nursing who reports directly to the Vice President of Patient Care Services. They will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing standards of the unit and act as a liaison between staff members and various other departments in the hospital. This leader will also be responsible for scheduling, performance improvement programs, quality assurance, and continuing education.
