Responsibilities of the Hospital Risk Manager involve overall oversight of the risk management program including the identification, evaluation, and treatment of risk in the organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and managing processes to identify, asses, and treat actual and potential exposures to loss. The Hospital Risk Manager will act as the Director of Quality and Safety Management’s right-hand man and will be supported by other CPHQ and CPHRM analysts to ensure consistency with board approved plans and regulatory standards are upheld.
The leader in this role reviews all events and near misses reported through the incident reporting system and any other means. This manager makes appropriate referrals for event investigation and follow-up to responsible departments. Strong organization skills are a huge plus for this leader to ensure proper data collection and statistical analysis are maintained. A Hospital Risk Manager with prior experience in Risk Management and their CPHRM certification will get quick interviews!
