A large, Academic Medical Center in southern California is actively seeking a Director of Hospital Infection Control. The Director of Hospital Infection Control will report to the Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety and will oversee a team of five Infection Preventionist. The IP team is employed by well-tenured nurses that have been with the hospital for 5+ years. In addition, many of the Infection Preventionist have their APIC CIC credentials. Experience with Infection Control survey standards and surveillance of infection control metrics (MDROs, CAUTI, CLABSI, and C-diff etc.) will ensure the Director of Hospital Infection Control has a smooth transition into their newest position.
The Director of Hospital Infection Control position has become available due to a well-tenure previous director relocating. This hospital has seen great stability in this position as the previous Infection Control & Epidemiology Director was with them for 10+ years.
The Director of Hospital Infection Control will oversee two adjoining hospital campuses. The acute care adult hospital has approximately 500 patient beds and the women’s and children’s medical center has 300+ beds.
