Health Plan Product Benefits Specialist

This San Francisco Bay Area Health Plan is actively interviewing for a Product and Benefits Specialist to join the Marketing Portfolio and Business Development team. Join this trusted community health system, and play a key strategic role in building this systems future.

This integrated health system has served the San Francisco community for over 50 years. The Health Plan Products Benefits Specialist will discover an amazing team of clinical and administrative leaders with quality patient care at their very heart. This facility and its satellite clinics have been recognized by The Joint Commission and by the people of the community for its high quality outcomes and superior patient care. A large part of this comes from the close connection this health system has with the people it serves.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Specialist will support Product Development and Portfolio maintenance for the Health Plan’s Marketing and Business Development unit. This person will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Manager of Sales to set business development direction, identify market opportunities, and execute strategies within the community.

At the heart of the Benefit Specialist’s role are the products that the Health Plan provides. Serving the community as part of an integrated model of health care delivery, this Health Plan strives for affordability, diverse coverage options, and efficiency with all of its customers. This community-based organization offers products to large, small, and medium enterprise employer groups, as well as individuals and families regardless of whether or not they’re on the health insurance exchange. Other, innovative products that the Health Plan offers are a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan and a Medicare Advantage HMO.

The Health Plan Product Specialist will play a key role in designing, evaluating, and implementing new healthcare products. Working with internal and external stakeholders, exchange professionals, and directly with customers, the Specialist will develop new products to meet the community’s needs. From the ideation stage through the go-to-market strategy, the Manager will lead the processes and products that maintain and improve the community’s health.

This person will also need to have strong organization and customer management skills, as the Product Marketing Specialist will be working with a diverse department and across organizational boundaries. This person will support the manager in budgetary and staffing administration, operational coordination, and resource management, all of which play big roles in measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the Product Portfolio and Business Development unit. The San Francisco health care market is a crowded and competitive place, but the Health Plan Products Manager will know how to find the customer’s pain and alleviate it.
