The General Surgery Physician Assistant will work within a perioperative department that is known to utilize the latest surgical technologies and evidence-based medicine. The General Surgery Physician Assistant will be exposed to a number of surgical procedures within the perioperative department including diagnostic procedures, gastrointestinal procedures, breast surgeries, hernia repairs, wound care, as well as robotic surgery. The General Surgery Physician Assistant will have the opportunity to work amongst some of the best surgeons located in the state of Connecticut. The General Surgery Physician Assistant will work within a state-pf-the-art surgical center that is designed specifically with the patient in mind.
The General Surgery Physician Assistant will work alongside the General Surgeons to ensure comprehensive patient-centered care throughout the surgical department. The General Surgery Physician Assistant will join an exceptional team of perioperative clinicians and will work to provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative surgical care. The General Surgery Physician Assistant will be expected to consult with patients that are undergoing surgical care throughout many different areas of the hospital including the emergency room, intensive care unit, and many other medical units. The General Surgery Physician Assistant will also be exposed to the vascular, endocrine, MIS/bariatric, thoracic, gynecologic, and orthopedic surgery procedures.
