Family Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Director

An amazing opportunity awaits a Family Nurse Practitioner to work as the Primary Care Director and focus on the expansion of the Primary Care Service Line within a women’s birthing center.  The Primary Care Director will report to the Executive Director and work from a beautiful stand alone 3 story clinic ten minutes from the medical campus.

The Primary Care Director position will entail about 70% clinical and 30% administrative work.  The Primary Care Director will be responsible for holding a full clinic schedule, in addition to, directing patient care in the clinic and overseeing the clinicians and clinical support staff to include: APNs, CMAs/MAs and nurses that work in the clinic.  

The ideal Primary Care Director will possess exceptional leadership skills, time management, problem solving skills and decision making abilities.  In addition, the Primary Care Director will partner and collaborate with the Executive Director to build, grow, monitor and evaluate the existing primary care services of the birthing center in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan, manage the primary care service in a fiscally sound way and develop and administer the annual budget. 

The Primary Care Director will also collaborate with the Human Resources Manager and other applicable management personnel to hire, orient, evaluate, supervise, discipline and dismiss clinical staff within areas of responsibility, perform annual reviews for designated clinical staff, provide clinical direction and clinical administration including, but not limited to, developing clinical practice guidelines, provider schedules and maintaining clinic schedules.  In addition the Primary Care Director will be responsible for the oversight, development and maintenance of clinic protocols, policies and procedures for the primary care service.  Supervision of clinic providers is also going to be key as well as setting and performing primary care quality assurance activities (CQI), participating in and directing provider team meetings and ensuring appropriate safety training and skills drill
