The exceptional 50 bed short term acute care center is dedicated to being philanthropic and community minded. The Family Nurse Practitioner will play a role in the community’s health and well-being. The medical center offers a wide range of clinical services ranging from respiratory therapy to psychiatry, emergency services, and beyond. The Family Nurse Practitioner will be on a diverse team. The Family Nurse Practitioner will follow established nursing standards, procedures and practices while giving specific patient care directions to nursing and ancillary staff. Care will be provided to patients of all age by obtaining patient history, performing physical examinations, assessing and managing physical and psychological conditions, and doing so by creating a problem list, a diagnostic, therapeutic, and teaching plan, which includes preventative health, and this will form the majority of the Family Nurse Practitioner’s responsibilities. When emergencies arise, the Family Nurse Practitioner will manage them. Family planning, STD screening, and gynecological examinations will be provided by the compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner, but prenatal care will not be within the responsibilities. The Family Nurse Practitioner will adjust and furnish medications in the formulary. Ordering diagnostic studies from the laboratory and radiology to provide excellent care is a job function for the Family Nurse Practitioner. The Family Nurse Practitioner will stay current and up to date with all the job requirements through continuing professional growth and development through participating in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
The Family Nurse Practitioner will report to and receive mentorship from the Medical Director. Under the Medical Director’s general direction, the Family Nurse Practitioner will encourage community building, working together, and a sense of togetherness through their daily actions. The Family Nurse Practitioner being a part of special projects, participating in continued education seminars, and attending unit meetings will encourage a feeling of togetherness.
With one or more year of experience as a registered nurse or Family Nurse Practitioner, their Master’s degree in nursing and Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program, the Family Nurse Practitioner will have the experience needed to be a part of this medical center and grow professionally.
