A large, 350 bed hospital is seeking a new Director for their Emergency Services Department. The hospital is located just south of Denver in a tight knit and friendly community.
The Emergency Department is made up of 34 beds, three of which are reserved for psych observation and transportation. The Nurse Director of Emergency Services will oversee daily operations of the unit and 75 FTEs. The Emergency Director will be supported by a clinical coordinator, supervisor and charge nurses and will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.
The ER physicians in the unit are board certified by the American College of Emergency Physicians and perform to the highest quality and have decrease wait times for all patients. All Emergency Room registered nurses are trauma certified and the unit is a certified Level III Trauma Center. The staff in the emergency department are all accredited in Advanced cardiac life support and pediatric life support.
The ideal Nurse Director for the Emergency Department will have a strong nursing background in the ER, and management experience. The Director ensures standards of quality are up to the highest standard and implement process improvement initiatives. The Director is in charge of scheduling, budgeting, and managing productivity of the unit.
