The Emergency Department (E.D) is a fast paced environment with 10+ beds for patients to feel comfortable and spread out. The Emergency nurse will be reporting directly up to the Manager of Emergency Services while ensuring that each and every patient is comfortable, stable, and receiving proper assistance consistently. They will work alongside 30+ other ER nurses to complete all facility tasks in a timely and efficient manner. The Manager and Director of Emergency Services is expecting the Emergency nurse to come in and hit the ground running.
Emergency nurse carries much responsibility in the overall functionality of the Emergency Department. The responsibilities may include;
- Quick assessment of patients needs
- Treating each case from allergic reactions, to wound care
- Ability to perform minor medical operations
- Consistently meeting the ER standards of the department
- Ability to keep up with a fast department and meet all needs to provide quality patient care
An RN license is necessary in the state of New Mexico to being considered for the Emergency nurse opening with this hospital as well as previous RN experience at a critical access environment is a plus. Alignment and knowledge of the facility and department goals being while being part of the joint commission accreditation is an important factor to know and understand as well.
