Working under the Director of Emergency Services, the Emergency Department Nurse Nights will exhibit tact, enthusiasm, and patience while utilizing their excellent customer service skills and their high degree of competency/experience in general to organize and clearly communicate within the Emergency Department as a whole.
The Emergency Department Nurse Nights will help maintain the overall productivity and quality of the Emergency Services Department as well as other departments within the hospital. They will follow all safety rules and regulations and perform necessary duties in times of Code or Emergencies. The Emergency Department Nurse Nights participates in continuing education and attends all required meetings, while demonstrating an ability to learn and adapt to the day to day changes in the hospital. This will allow the ED Nurse to contribute to the harmonious and team oriented atmosphere that this hospital takes pride in providing.
The Emergency Department Nurse Nights promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. They will consider the mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practice to ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas, and ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. They will support the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Hospital and the department. The Emergency Department Nurse Nights will provide effective and efficient patient care management. They will demonstrate strong and effective managerial techniques/skills in established lines of authority and maintain professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences. They will always make sure to effectively organize time, equipment, supplies and personnel for management of the ED.
