The Director of Respiratory Therapy will hold responsibility for a team of Respiratory Therapists by mentoring, training, making hiring and firing decisions, and more. Having a significant voice in hospital administrative decisions is a meaningful part of the Director of Respiratory Therapy’s position. The Director of Respiratory Therapy will write and implement policies ensuring risk is mitigated, optimal patient care is provided, and the care continuum is withheld throughout patient care. The detail-oriented Director of Respiratory Therapy will achieve both quality and financial initiative in this position. The Director of Respiratory Therapy will not be completely removed from clinical patient care as the Director of Respiratory Therapy’s valuable time will be split between managerial and clinical tasks.
