The Director of Pathology Administration will be responsible for the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of the general atmosphere of the non-physician anatomic and clinical pathology team. The Director of Pathology Administration will work in collaboration with the Director of Pathology to maximize efficiency of the facility laboratory services. There are nearly 1,000 types of tests that are performed throughout this hospital facilities labs, making this hospital one that provides the most onsite lab testing than any other hospital in the area. The types of labs that the Director of Pathology Administration will encounter include but are not limited to blood bank, chemistry, cytology, hematology, immunology, microbiology, surgical pathology, and toxicology.
The ideal candidate for the Director of Pathology Administration role will have a strong understanding of department fiscal goals in coordination with the established procedures and should hold a level of accountability in regards to operating and capital budgets. The Director of Pathology Administration will oversee and direct departmental and new renovations ventures, maintain professional affiliations and contracts, as well as actively participate in hospital-wide programs. The Director of Pathology Administration will be expected to conduct regular staff meetings, appropriately share information and provide an open line of community within the department as well as with other ancillary departments in the hospital.
