Director of Nursing Education

An established Magnet designated acute care hospital located in central Connecticut is now searching for a new Director of Nursing Education to join their award-winning healthcare team.

Known as a national leader in healthcare, this facility boasts 150+ inpatient beds including a state-of-the-art emergency department that treats nearly 50,000 patients each year. The main campus includes a highly decorated ICU, single room model maternity units, wound care and hyperbaric center, a leading skilled nursing facility, and an established surgical center.

The Director of Nursing Education will have the unique opportunity to lead the professional development activities for a group of doctorate and master’s prepared nurses. The Director will lead the professional development nurse staff, serve as a recourse in regards to educational and organizational standards, implement policies and procedures, provide periodic evaluation of the staff, partners with the Magnet Specialist to maintain designation standards, and promotes life-long learning within the health system.  

Requirements Include: 

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Education
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Connecticut
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive management level experience
  • Prior experience in education specialty and nursing leadership
