Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Director of Risk Management will oversee operations around Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Accreditation, and Infection Control / Prevention. Supported by a team of Infection Preventionists led by the CIC Coordinator, a Risk Management Supervisor, and a team of Quality Analysts, the Director will spearhead improvement initiatives throughout the hospital and community health system.
The Quality and Performance Nursing Director will coordinate with each department in this community hospital, including Nurse Managers and Director from Inpatient Care (Medical Surgical, Critical Care), Emergency Department, Women’s and Children’s, Procedural Care (Surgical and Cardiac Services), and Outpatient Care.
This individual will act as the advocate for quality and safety to the Board of Directors and serve as part of the organization’s governing, decision-making, and strategic planning body. The Nurse Director of Performance Improvement and Risk Management will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the quality and safety plans of the hospital with a focus on maximizing efficiency and integration opportunities. This position is also responsible for sustaining the standards of regulatory and governmental agencies and managing the hospital’s quality data collection.
