The Endocrinology Diabetes Nurse Practitioner will be accountable for staff functions which enhance the delivery of patient care in accordance with the standards of nursing practice through education, role modeling, standards development, quality improvement, program development and coordination and other duties assigned by the Vice President of Nursing.

This Diabetes Clinic Nurse Practitioner will be a member of the Chief Nursing Officer’s leadership team and a member of the Advanced Practice Nurses Group which will focus on the diabetes patient population. The Diabetes Program Nurse Practitioner NP will work in collaboration with directors, clinical managers and other CPM/NP positions.

The Endocrinology Diabetes NP Nurse Practitioner will promote the provision of effective, high quality patient and family focused care to all patients. Diabetes Program Nurse Practitioner NP works collaborative with other Advanced Practice Nurses, Human Resources Learning and Leadership Team Members, and other nursing leadership teams to develop and validate the clinical competency of staff.

The Diabetes Program Nurse Practitioner NP will be bringing innovative ideas from and to the bedside, establishing clinical performance criteria and contributing to the analysis and appraisal of staff performance results through assessment of clinical abilities; coordinating orientation for staff to new procedures and care standards; providing in-services; policy development; coordinating educational goal setting and participating in long-range educational planning.
