Critical Care Physician Assistant

An award-winning acute care hospital located on Long Island is currently searching for an experienced Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join their clinically advanced team.

Roughly two decades ago, this hospital received a Comprehensive Cancer Program designation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.  The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will join a team of dedicated personnel who provide care for more than 100,000 patients each and every year.

The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will work in a 25-bed intensive care unit that is accustomed to caring for patients dealing with a number of critical and complex medical conditions. The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will work within an advanced team of critical care professionals including a team of intensive care nurses, critical care and trauma physicians, respiratory therapists, and many other supplementary staff. This hospital is also home to a Level II Trauma Center that is responsible for treating over 7,500 adult and pediatric patients annually. The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will interact with a number of different departments throughout the hospital including emergency services, surgical services, neurosurgery, orthopedics, trauma services, as well as local fire rescue and police teams.

The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will work within a intensive care unit that is accustomed to diagnosing and treating a number of critical conditions. The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will be a vital member of the intensive care nursing leadership team as they will be responsible for attaining full patient medical histories, performing physical exams, diagnosing medical issues, providing adequate medical treatment, ordering medications, performing invasive and non-invasive procedures, and educating both staff and patients alike. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experience acute-care Physician Assistant or an experienced acute-care Nurse Practitioner.
