The Critical Care Nurse Supervisor will report to the Critical Care Manager and be under the general direction of the Executive Director of Nursing. The Nurse Supervisor will have support from several Charge Nurses in the department to ensure patient safety and care is being performed appropriately. The Nurse Supervisor will also have the opportunity to form interdepartmental relations with other departments leaders to coordinate continuity of patient care, from admission through discharge, in support of each patient’s plan of care.
The Critical Care Nurse Supervisor will be joining and assisting in the oversight of a 30-bed unit. The Nurse Supervisor will oversee both clinical and administrative duties to assist in the success of the department. As for clinical duties, the Supervisor will act as a mentor for staff and assist in clinical practice and education for new hires and during training. Support with also be provided by the Nurse Supervisor to ensure there are strong workflow processes and infrastructures that promote efficient and effective quality patient care. The Nurse Supervisor will also oversee and assist the management team with many administrative aspects of the Critical Care department. As Supervisor, this person will have financial responsibility of the department, assist in delivering effective staffing schedules, and perform efficient timesheet/payroll management processes.
