Reporting to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Manager of the Critical Care Unit will provide supervisory direction for the professional development and evaluation of the nursing staff of the Critical Care Unit. Supported by a team of Assistant Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, ICU Clinical Educators, Critical Care Nurse Specialists, ICU Techs, Intensivists, Charge Nurses, and Respiratory Therapists this Critical Care Nurse Leader will be proactive in identifying issues and improving quality patient care to meet National Patient Safety Goals and Core Measure Initiatives.
The Critical Care Nurse Manager will join a fast paced Intensive Care Service Line that includes full service Surgical Intensive Care Units and Medical Intensive Care units. The Critical Care team, including Staff Nurses, Critical Care Nurse Specialists, ICU Techs, Respiratory Therapists, Charge Nurses, CU Clinical Educators, and Intensivists oversee a diverse patient population consisting of Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopedics and Wound Care.
The Nurse Manager of Critical Care will be the front line supervisor for assigning, building and directing teams to provide care to the patients assigned. This position will oversee daily operations, including budgeting and quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse manager will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals that are trained to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, critical care, and stabilization of patients needing intensive care. This person will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development and performance improvement in this fast paced and high pressure environment. Strong leadership experience within an ICU or CCU environment will provide this Nurse Leader with the tools necessary to succeed in this role.
