This short term acute care facility is comprised of a dedicated and highly specialized healthcare team focused on delivering top-notch patient care throughout the community. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Surgical Services will join one of the largest, oldest and most innovative hospitals in the area, with one of the most reputable surgical service departments in New Jersey. This Level 1 Trauma facility provides an array of highly specialized clinical services and their residency programs.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing Education, the Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services will oversee the nursing education of the staff in both the inpatient and outpatient surgical units. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services will work alongside 10 other Clinical Nurse Educators of different specialities. The Clinical Nursing Education department strives to develop curriculum and continuous education for current department staff and new-hires, focused on utilizing the most advanced technology, techniques, and evidence-based best practices. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services will work alongside Operating Room, PreOperative, and PACU department directors, managers, staff, physicians, and technicians. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Surgery will be responsible for educational program development, staff and patient education, nursing consultations, and ensuring overall unit efficiency.
The Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services is a personable, efficient, communicator with experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, presenting to an audience, and leading teams. The RN Nursing Educator will be knowledgeable on the latest evidence based practices used throughout the Perioperative Surgical Services department, recent clinical operating room experience, and preceptor hours. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Surgical Services can be an individual with a preceptor background with their masters, or a current Nursing Educator looking to increase scope of responsibility, solely focusing on nursing education of perioperative services.
