The Clinical Nursing Manager of Perioperative will join a facility that delivers advanced surgical care, high-risk obstetrics with a high-acuity neonatal ICU, a comprehensive stroke center, and a wealth of specialty services.
Reporting to the Administrative Director of Surgical Services, the Perioperative Transplant Nursing Manager will oversee an outstanding team of CNOR Registered Nurses, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Transplant specialized Surgical Technologists, Perfusionists, and a crucial support staff. Supporting the Manager in this is a CVOR Charge Nurse and two Clinical Staff Leaders.
The Perioperative Clinical Nursing Manager will join one of the area’s leading Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant programs, delivering life changing care to high-acuity patients every day. This specialized unit’s reputation for outstanding clinical care and fantastic patient satisfaction has helped it increase volume substantially, creating the need for a strong Clinical Manager to oversee a growing team of Nursing and Technologist staff. Some of the highly specialized procedures that this 5 operating-room unit regularly performs are CABG, Valve Replacements, Open Heart, and Vascular Transplantation.
The Clinical Nursing Manager will have an important role to play in the operations and organization of the CVORs, Transplant Suite, and Hybrid Room. Strong clinical skills, with a background in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Transplant, will be important in supporting the clinical staff in the unit. The Manager will offer clinical support to the 20+ FTEs in this specialized unit, serving as a mentor for skills development and building a team-based environment with shared responsibility and governance. The Perioperative Nursing Manager will also take oversight of staffing the unit, acting as the point person for hiring in this rapidly expanding service line.
