Clinical Nurse Manager Oncology

This outstanding Outpatient Oncology center on California’s Central Coast is actively interviewing for a Nurse Manager to oversee Clinical and Administrative Operations. Join a fantastic Non-Profit health system, and lead a team of compassionate and experienced RN Infusion Nurses.

After a recent remodel and expansion of this well-regarded community Oncology Center, multiple clinics and service lines have been combined under a single roof. The Clinical Operations Nurse Manager will join an organization that’s earned local and national acclaim for its commitment to nurturing a holistic continuum of care. With services ranging from infusion and radiation oncology, to nuclear medicine and surgical services, this cancer center continues to push the boundaries of modern oncology patient care.

The Clinical Oncology Manager will oversee the busiest of 4 Medical Oncology and Hematology Clinic locations, and will take responsibility for one of the busiest service lines within this Cancer Care Center. Nearly doubling the capacity of the other infusion centers, this central hem/onc center has 20-chairs and is generally quite full. On a personal note, the nurses and staff here all feel like a tight knit family, where community support and survivorship play into every day interactions.

Reporting to the Clinical Director of Ambulatory Cancer Care, the Nurse Manager of Clinical Oncology will manage a complex service line and receive outstanding unit-based support. The Manager will directly oversee one OCN Nursing Supervisor and a team of 10+ ONS Biotherapy/Chemotherapy Certified Oncology RN Specialists. This person will work in collaboration with a tenured and respected team of Oncologists, Oncology Nurse Practitioners, and Cancer Care Nurse Navigators to ensure that each patient receives the care they need.

The Clinical Nurse Manager should have a clinical background, with experience understanding the key performance indicators for Ambulatory Infusion Centers. This person will be expected to take on an important role in the clinical development of the staff, positive mentoring / coaching experiences, and supporting the development of educational programming. You’ll find support among the nursing and leadership staff for these initiatives.

The Nurse Manager will also play an important role in leading efficient operations, spearheading administrative process improvement, and ensuring total regulatory compliance. Working in collaboration with the Finance and Business Office, the Manager will develop and execute annual budgeting process. This position will be the primary subject matter expert with regards to regulatory surveys and unit accreditation.
