Clinical Laboratory Operations Manager Lab

A community medical center in Southern Texas is currently seeking a Manager to oversee technical and administrative Operations for its Inpatient Laboratory. Join this tightknit community and dedicated Lab / medical team, and lead an experienced team of scientists and technologists. 

The Laboratory Manager will join a hospital that has been a staple of this community for many years. This full service medical center has outstanding quality and patient satisfaction scores, and has been able to draw great physicians from around Texas and Louisiana to join the team. In addition to maternity, emergency services, a state-of-the-art radiology department, oncology, and orthopedics, this regional hospital has recently received laboratory accreditation from The Joint Commission. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Clinical Laboratory Manger will be joining, and leading, an extraordinary team. Supporting this person is a 10+ FTE unit that does about 150 draws a day across inpatient and outpatient services lines. Partly due to its location, and partly to its community commitment, this medical center Laboratory contains all the equipment core to a functional Lab: Siemens chemistry, System hematology, Echo blood bank analyzer, Stago Coag, Iricell UA, Siemens PFA, Siemens Rapidpoint ABG. 

The incoming Clinical Lab Manager will play an integral role in the operations of this department. This person will serve as a consultant and resource for many of the hospital’s leaders, as well as a mentor and leader to the excellent staff of Lab Technologists. The Manager will also take oversight of administrative aspects of this department, spearheading budget development, staffing, and financial oversight.
