Clinical Lab Supervisor

Under general supervision of the Clinical Lab Director, the Clinical Lab Supervisor will oversee the operations and direct the day to day workload in the lab. Additionally, they will help perform a variety of tests and diagnostics, specifically relating to chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank, serology, and others. Once these tests are performed, the Clinical Lab Supervisor will analyze and interpret the results to ensure that they meet quality control standards. It is critical that the Clinical Lab Supervisor be able to direct the staff in running quality control tests and calibrations with regard to reagents and instrumentation as these exercises fall within best practices. The Clinical Lab Supervisor will be responsible for making sure the lab staff is following proper safety guidelines as they pertain to hospital policies and procedures, in addition to adhering to infection control policies.

The Clinical Lab Supervisor should have a high level of understanding for Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement methods as these will enable the staff members to perform their job duties to the best of their abilities. The Clinical Lab Director is looking for a Clinical Lab Supervisor who can work effectively, efficiently, and quickly in order to meet the work demand.
